Prismacolor Pen - Nephew After Dinner

I knocked this out almost two years ago. I'm fascinated that so much time has gone by since this sketch. I did it at a family Thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws. It was evening, I was sitting near the dining room table. The lighting was coming from all directions, and I was impressed that he would sit for even five minutes as a six or seven year-old with cousins running all over the place. I find that working with pen (of any type) forces me to be decisive in way not required with dry media. It's good exercise, even if it's just a quick rough. Enjoy drawing!

Hiatus Over

It's been a while since I spent time in a good book of my own making. In this case, Nick Barlow of Barlow & Howell in Salt Lake hand made this leatherbound beauty. Knocked this out in church a few weeks ago. Models just sit there, don't charge a penny, and sometimes do a good Ben Franklin impersonation. Right-click to view larger.
